Development of Park & Ride infrastructure

Status : En exécution

By developing intermodal hubs and 'Park and Ride' infrastructures, the Region wishes to offer an alternative to the use of the car to get to the city centre. The aim is to provide parking spaces located in the immediate vicinity of efficient public transport lines linking the city centre's activity centres.

Stalle car park

The current Stalle car park is located on the inner edge of the Brussels Region, in Uccle, close to Rue de Stalle, Rue de l'Étoile and the terminus of tram line 4 (Stalle terminus). The location of the site, twenty minutes from the Pentagon by tram, offers ideal accessibility conditions from several roads that bypass and irrigate the city (E19).

The project aims to extend the existing infrastructure by constructing a four-storey building with 700 spaces and creating three uncovered spaces for school buses. In addition, there will be additional uncovered spaces.

The project also includes the creation of secure infrastructure for long-term bicycle parking.

The accesses have been revised to integrate the new needs inherent in the management of the car park (lane for moving up queues, by-pass, etc.). A second exit from the car park will be provided to prevent through traffic from rushing into the residential area. Depending on the needs, an additional entrance to the car park could be built on the Rue de l'Étoile side. Two green areas will be redesigned on both sides of the car park to provide a safe and pleasant pedestrian and cycle path to the green promenade. In addition, the roof will be completely greened, providing an additional green space of over 4,500 m2.

Parking Ceria: completed and open

This covered car park is easily accessible from the Brussels Ring Road and offers a quick connection to the centre of the capital via metro line 5. It will open in May 2019 and offers 1350 parking spaces for cars and motorbikes. A large covered area on the ground floor is reserved for bicycle parking: the site has 300 secure spaces. The building has a main volume of 4 floors plus a parking level on the roof. Decorative facades cover the very open structure of the parking floors. These are widely perforated to ensure ventilation and lighting of the facilities.
