The campaign

This summer, Brussels Mobility's tongue-in-cheek campaign, which targeted young people and tackled driving under the influence (drugs and alcohol), created a buzz. With the festive season approaching, Baudouin is back to hammer home the message!

Alcohol and drugs play a role in 13% of serious accidents (with fatalities and serious injuries) in Brussels. The use of certain substances is a problematic 'trend': in 2020, 14% of Brussels drivers under the age of 34 said they inhaled laughing gas at least once a month before getting into the car (source: Vias). This is an alarming finding, which has led Brussels Mobility to tackle driving under the influence in all its forms!

Here is the return, under the Christmas tree, of the campaign that made the buzz this summer, once again with the participation of Belgian actor Guy Staumont (Dikkenek).

How to avoid driving under the influence?

The solution is not to take a scooter or a bike home, because these are also modes of transport with which you ride on the road: you are then a danger to yourself and others!

The best thing to do is to designate a sober driver in your group when you go out. Nowadays there are more and more alternatives for non-alcoholic drinks.

If you really feel like having a drink, the best way to end the evening is to organise your return when you are still thinking clearly: take public transport home, share a taxi, sleep on the spot.
